In McCarthy, he'd be coaching someone that better fits the modern style of QB in someone with enough mobility to be an effective scrambler and pa ser on the run who can also stand in the pocket and deliver throws over the middle as needed.Should Cousins return, McCarthy would have a chance to learn from the veteran quarterback and gain experience in an NFL system before eventually taking over as the starter.
